About
Cognition acquired Windsurf in July 2025 and relaunched it as Devin Desktop in June 2026, positioning it as the local counterpart to cloud-based Devin. It keeps the agentic IDE workflow Windsurf users know — repo-aware multi-step edits and agent flows — while tying into Cognition's wider agent platform. Existing Windsurf users were migrated, and windsurf.com now redirects here.
