The Best v0 Alternatives in 2026
By Ethan Halfhide · Updated
If you want a full app from a prompt with less setup than v0, start with Lovable (from $25/month) or Bolt.new (from $25/month); both have free tiers. Developers who want to own the repo should use Cursor or Claude Code instead. Below: what v0 costs now, nine alternatives with checked prices, and how to pick.

v0 alternatives at a glance
Prices are the entry paid plan on each official pricing page, as of September 2026. Where a pricing page only shows the price with annual billing, we say so. "Full-stack" means the tool can give your app a database and auth without you setting up a separate backend service yourself.
| Tool | What it builds | Free tier | Paid from | Code and GitHub | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| v0 (for reference) | Next.js apps; databases through Vercel Marketplace integrations | $5 of credits a month, 7 messages a day | $30 per user per month (Plus) | GitHub sync on all plans | React and Next.js UI on Vercel |
| Lovable | Full-stack web apps with a built-in backend (Cloud) | 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month | $25 a month for 100 credits | Git sync on Free; code download and editing on Pro | Non-developers who want a working app |
| Bolt.new | Full-stack web apps, with a Code view to edit files in the browser | 300K tokens a day, 1M a month | $25 a month, starting at 10M tokens | GitHub sync | Builders who want to see and run the code |
| Replit | Full-stack apps with hosting, databases and an agent | Starter: daily Agent credits, Lite build, 1 app published for 30 days | $20 a month (Core) | Code lives in a full online workspace | Apps you want to host where you build them |
| Cursor | Any code, in your own repo | Hobby: limited Agent requests | $20 a month (Pro) | Your local repo and Git | Developers who want an AI editor |
| Claude Code | Any code, in your own repo | Not on Claude Free | $20 a month, or $17 a month billed annually (Claude Pro) | Your local repo and Git | Developers who prefer an agent in the terminal |
| Base44 | Full-stack apps with backend, auth and database included | 25 message credits a month, up to 5 apps | $16 a month billed annually (Starter) | GitHub integration from the Builder plan | Non-technical users who want everything included |
| Dyad | Web apps, built locally on your computer | Free and open source; bring your own AI key | $20 a month (optional Pro plan) | Code on your machine; deploy to GitHub and Vercel | Privacy, local models, no lock-in |
| Figma Make | Prototypes and web apps from prompts and Figma designs | Figma Starter: 150 AI credits a day, up to 500 a month | $16 a month per Full seat, billed annually (Professional) | Code-backed output; Supabase for backend | Design teams already in Figma |
| Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf) | Any code, in your own repo, plus agent management | Light quota, unlimited Tab completions | $20 a month (Pro) | Your local repo and Git | Developers running several coding agents |
What v0 is now, and what it costs
v0 has changed a lot since it launched as a component generator. Several of the top-ranking alternatives pages still describe it as front-end only, which is out of date. Here is what Vercel's own pages say, as of September 2026.
- →What it is: Vercel describes v0 as "an AI agent that helps anyone create real code and full-stack apps and agents." It works with Next.js, Tailwind and shadcn/ui and deploys to Vercel.
- →Backend: v0 connects databases in one click through the Vercel Marketplace, including Upstash, Neon, Supabase and Vercel Blob, plus Snowflake for data apps. Each integration provisions a separate account on that provider.
- →GitHub: v0 syncs to GitHub on every plan, works on its own branches and can open pull requests.
- →Free plan: $0 with $5 of monthly credits and a limit of 7 messages a day.
- →Plus: $30 per user per month with $30 of monthly credits per user, plus $2 of free daily credits when you log in. Business is $100 per user per month and adds training opt-out by default.
- →Premium ($20 a month) is being sunset and is no longer available to new users.
- →Credits are spent by tokens, and the rate depends on the model: from $0.20 per million input tokens on v0 Mini up to $10 input and $50 output per million on v0 Max Fast. Your chat history and project files count as input, so long projects cost more per message.
- →Unused monthly credits roll over and expire after 65 days. ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers can connect their ChatGPT plan to cover eligible responses from OpenAI models.
Why people look for a v0 alternative
- →Cost per message: v0 bills by tokens, and every message carries the project's chat history and files as input, so messages cost more as a project grows. The alternatives are metered too (Lovable and Base44 by credits that vary by task, Bolt.new by tokens), so none of them are flat-rate.
- →A backend that is part of the product: v0's databases are third-party integrations. Lovable, Base44 and Replit include hosting and a database inside the product, so there is one bill and one place to look.
- →The free tier: v0 Free is capped at 7 messages a day and $5 of credits a month.
- →Stack: v0 is built around Next.js and Vercel. If you want a different stack or host, Replit, Cursor and Claude Code are not tied to one.
- →Team pricing: v0 Plus is priced per user. Lovable plans are priced by credits, with unlimited workspace members.
Lovable: our top pick for a full app without code
- →Who it's for: founders, marketers and product people who want a working web app with login and a database, not just screens.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): Free gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, plus 20 Cloud credits a month for hosting and backend. Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits ($21 a month billed annually); Business starts at $50 a month. Plans are priced by credits, not seats, and workspaces allow unlimited members.
- →Code: Git sync with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket works on every plan, including Free. Downloading and editing code, custom domains and removing the Lovable badge need Pro. Lovable's pricing FAQ says you own your code.
- →Trade-offs: credit cost varies by task. Lovable's own examples range from 0.50 credits for a button color change to 1.70 credits for a landing page with generated images. Monthly plan credits expire two months after they are issued.
- →Students get 50% off Pro for up to 12 months.
Bolt.new: best for seeing and running the code as it is written
- →Who it's for: builders who want the speed of a prompt-to-app tool but also want to open and edit the project's files directly, in Bolt's Code view.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): Free includes 300K tokens a day and 1M a month, hosting, and unlimited databases, with Bolt branding on sites. Pro is $25 a month, starting at 10M tokens a month with no daily limit, custom domains and no branding. Teams is $30 per member per month.
- →Code: GitHub sync backs up the project with full history, lets you work on branches, and lets you publish through Bolt hosting, Netlify or another host.
- →Trade-offs: Bolt says most token usage comes from syncing your project's files to the AI, so larger projects use more tokens per message. Unused paid tokens roll over for one extra month.
Replit: best if you want to build and host in one place
- →Who it's for: people who want the agent, the database, storage and hosting all inside one workspace.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): the free Starter plan gives daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap and monthly credits for databases, storage and publishing. Core is $20 a month ($18 billed annually) and includes $20 toward the most capable models. Pro is $100 a month with 10 parallel agents and up to 15 collaborators.
- →Trade-offs on Starter: only Lite build is available, third-party connectors such as Stripe need Core, and your one free published app goes down after 30 days and carries a Made with Replit badge.
Cursor: best for developers who want an AI editor
- →Who it's for: developers who already have a codebase, or want one, and prefer to review every change in an editor.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): the Hobby plan is free with no credit card and limited Agent requests. The Individual plan starts at $20 a month (Pro), with Pro+ and Ultra tiers above it. Teams is $40 per user per month.
- →Trade-offs: Cursor does not host your app or provide a database. You bring your own stack, Git and deployment, which is the point if you are leaving v0 for more control.
Claude Code: best for an agent that works across your whole repo
- →Who it's for: developers comfortable in a terminal or IDE who want an agent that reads the codebase, edits files and runs commands.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): Claude Code is included in Claude Pro at $17 a month billed annually ($200 up front) or $20 billed monthly. It is not included in the Free plan. Max starts at $100 a month for more usage.
- →Where it runs: the terminal, VS Code and JetBrains extensions, a desktop app and the web.
- →Trade-offs: like Cursor, it does not host your app or provide a database. It suits people who want to own the code, not people who want to avoid it.
Base44: best if you do not want to choose any providers
- →Who it's for: non-technical users who want an app with auth, a database and analytics without choosing any providers.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): Free includes 25 message credits and 100 integration credits a month, up to 5 apps, and authentication, database and analytics. Starter is $16 a month billed annually for 100 message credits. Builder is $40 a month billed annually.
- →Code: in-app code edits start on Starter. GitHub integration is listed from the Builder plan up.
- →Trade-offs: the free plan's 25 message credits go quickly, and GitHub access costs more here than on Lovable or v0.
Dyad: a free, open-source v0 alternative that runs locally
- →Who it's for: people who want a Lovable-style builder that runs on their own computer, with their own AI keys.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): Dyad is a free, open-source desktop app for macOS and Windows with no sign-up; an optional Dyad Pro plan is $20 a month. You bring your own API key and can use OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or local models through Ollama or LM Studio.
- →Code: files stay on your machine, and Dyad offers deployment to GitHub and Vercel.
- →Trade-offs: you pay your AI provider directly, and you manage keys and setup yourself.
Figma Make: best for design teams
- →Who it's for: designers and product teams who already work in Figma and want prototypes that use their design system.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): Make turns prompts and attached Figma designs into functional prototypes or web apps. It can connect to Supabase for auth and data and publish to a URL. Figma's free Starter plan includes 150 AI credits a day, up to 500 a month. A Professional Full seat is $16 a month billed annually, with 3,000 AI credits a month.
- →Trade-offs: Figma's own pages center Make on prototyping, and "Make on your local codebase" is labeled a beta that is coming soon.
Devin Desktop (formerly Windsurf): best for managing several coding agents
- →Who it's for: developers who want an AI editor that can also run and organize multiple agents.
- →Key facts (as of September 2026): Cognition renamed Windsurf to Devin Desktop on June 2, 2026, and windsurf.com/pricing now redirects to devin.ai. The Free plan has a light agent quota plus unlimited Tab completions and inline edits. Pro is $20 a month and Max is $200 a month.
- →Trade-offs: like Cursor and Claude Code, it is an editor, not an app host.

How to choose
- →You cannot code and want a real app with logins and data: Lovable, or Base44 if you want auth, database and analytics included without choosing providers.
- →You want to open and edit the generated files yourself, in the browser: Bolt.new.
- →You want the agent, database and hosting in one place: Replit.
- →You are a developer and want full control of the repo: Cursor if you like an editor, Claude Code if you like a terminal agent.
- →You want free and local, with your own AI keys: Dyad.
- →You design in Figma and mainly need prototypes: Figma Make.
- →You are happy with Next.js on Vercel and mostly need polished UI: stay on v0.
What changed recently, and what we don't know
- →Windsurf is now Devin Desktop (June 2, 2026). Older comparisons still use the Windsurf name.
- →Google is sunsetting Firebase Studio on March 22, 2027, and new workspaces can no longer be created. Google points users to Google AI Studio or Google Antigravity, so we left Firebase Studio off this list.
- →Tempo now describes itself as turning customer feedback and requirements into reviewed pull requests, which is a different job from v0.
- →Google Stitch generates UI designs for mobile and web apps, but its site does not publish plan limits we could verify, so we left it out of the table.
- →Every tool here prices by credits or tokens, and the cost of a given prompt changes with the model and project size. Treat the entry prices as a starting point, not a monthly total.
How this page was put together
We compared each tool's official pricing page and documentation on September 29, 2026, and checked what the top-ranking v0 alternatives pages and Google's People Also Ask box cover. We did not build test projects in these tools. Prices change often, so check the linked pricing page before you pay. Vibe Code Apps is an independent directory.
